It's inevitable that fights will break out in during your role plays. When you are playing characters with such power, in a world that is built around battle, we're gonna have to duke it out at some point. However, Its understandable that some will not know how to do this, and so this is a little guide for you to follow once it happens. Please follow these guide rails to learn how to be a successful and fair role player.
1. Never confirm a hit.
One of the easiest and most common mistakes people make when it comes to combat is confirming that their attack hits. Doing this is a form of god modding, once an attack has been made it's not your call if it hits or not, it's up to the person whom you're attacking.
2. Play fair
While it may be up to you if an attack hits your character or not, you have to be reasonable and play fair. Your character--however you may not like it--is going to get hit on occasion, make sure you allow yourself to get hit equal to the amount of attacks you dish out.
3. Trust
The two points above define yourself as a Roleplayer. And in order for it to be a successful combat scenario there has to be a degree of trust between the players. If you attack, you have to be able to trust that the other person will play fair. If you are constantly dodging attacks and making yourself look invincible, you lose that trust.
Good scenario:
"Darkrai threw all his might into launching a series of Hyper Beams toward Mewtwo"
Bad scenario:
"Darkrai launched a series of Hyper Beams, all of them hitting Mewtwo, and even if he dodged, Darkrai launched a focus blast at Mewtwo that would hit anyway"
"Mewtwo dodged all of the attacks by simply teleporting away"
Why - The first player not only confirmed his first attack, but then added another line that meant that Mewtwo would take a hit regardless of if he dodged or not. This is unfair because it's not allowing possibilities, you're allowed to attack multiple times--the situations can even be as dire as this one, but if you confirm each and every punch you through than you shouldn't be surprised when people stop role playing with you.
Mewtwo isn't without fault either, instead of allowing maybe one or two of those Hyper Beams to hit him, he completely dodged the entire row of attacks, even the Focus Blast that Darkarai launched afterwards. While you're allowed to do things like this, it's border-line 'god modding' status and should be used as scarce as possible.
Remember!
Before you complain to a Moderator or Admin bring the problem up with your partner. Communication between players is highly important when it comes to combat. And if it turns out that the problem can't be resolved please alert a staff member.

Below is a little side by side comparison on what is good and what is bad when it comes to making a combat post.
Good scenario:
"Darkrai threw all his might into launching a series of Hyper Beams toward Mewtwo"
"Mewtwo managed to dodge the first set of beams, but an expected beam slammed into him, knocking him into a nearby wall."
Why - While Darkrai was attacking, he made sure he didn't confirm that any of his attacks hit his opponent, he's trusting his partner. And Mewtwo did allow himself to get hit, he made it fair in that not each and every one of the Hyper Beams hurt him.
