Polari (Ampharos)

-Physical Stuff-

Physique: Like most of his species, Polari is rather round with short legs, flat arms, a long neck and conical ears. While most Ampharos will have their long tails curling slightly upward, Polari's tail will more often than not simply drag along the ground. For reasons unknown to him, Polari evolved earlier than most in his evolutionary line would, and as such he is a bit smaller than most of his species.
Eye Color: Dark blue; from a distance his eyes simply look like black orbs.
Other Scars/Markings: Like others of his species, Polari has a white belly, two black rings around his ears, three rings around his neck, and another three rings on his tail. His light yellow body is void of scars. The red orb on the end of his tail as well as the orb on his forehead are a slightly lighter shade than most Ampharos.

-Personality Stuff-

Likes:

Oran Berries; While Polari rather likes the taste of Oran berries, he doesn't get to eat them very often. Because Oran berries grow in trees (and Polari is not a tree climber by any stretch of the imagination), he usually has to rely on other Pokemon to gather them for him. Using his electric moves poses too much of a threat of igniting the tree or burning the berries.

Warm temperatures; Polari enjoys the feel of the sun or warm surfaces, especially when he sleeps. Large rocks in the sun or fluffy Pokemon are some of his favorites.

Company of others; Although he's not the greatest conversationalist, Polari likes the company of other Pokemon. He finds that they often have interesting stories to tell, and enjoys traveling with friendly Pokemon, even if only temporarily.

Dragon types; He can't quite explain it, but Polari has always been awed by dragon type Pokemon. It could be how resilient they are, how powerful they look, or maybe it's they way they're able to intimidate others so easily that Polari finds interesting.

Dislikes:

Cold temperatures; Having lost his wool from his previous two forms, Polari is more susceptible to cold than he once was.

Rude individuals; Because Polari is a very friendly Pokemon, he is usually treated with equal kindness. However, every once in a while he'll meet a Pokemon that insists on being rude and uncivil. He tries to avoid them whenever possible.

Judging based on type; Being an electric type, occasionally Polari will come across those who dislike or fear him solely because of his type. This annoys him, and he usually gives little effort toward convincing them otherwise.

Motivation:

Polari once wished to find his dream home and settle down, but he's become so accustomed to moving around that he now wishes to see as much of Purenti as he possibly can, and maybe find some traveling companions along the way.

Strengths:

Calm; Most of the time, Polari can be a tough individual to anger. Small annoyances rarely get to him, he's usually able to count to ten, set aside what makes him upset, and move on. He's able to identify when someone is only trying to pester him, and doesn't let them get to him.

Tough on the outside; Polari is capable of taking quite a few hits. His tough skin is durable and does well in protecting him. Some things which might hurt a more fragile Pokemon would leave him with barely a scratch.

Persuasive; One of his more outstanding traits, Polari is a smooth talker, despite his occasional awkwardness. He has an easier time explaining his point of view and getting others to agree with him.

Weaknesses/Flaws:

Indecisive; Polari finds that he has a very hard time making quick decisions, especially if the fate of another is on the line. For this reason, he prefers to stay out of leader roles and be more of a follower.

Slow; Due to the shape of his body, Polari is not a fast runner. While he is capable of moving rather quickly if he so desires (for example, if he is in danger), he can't keep up with most other Pokemon and he tires out rather easily.

Subject to loneliness; Because he is rather social, Polari has a tendency to get lonely when by himself for long periods of time (any more than 4-5 days). It has a way of affecting him so much that it noticeably dampens his mood.

Clumsy; Once again due to the shape of his body, Polari isn't the most graceful of individuals. He has a habit of tripping over small inclines or sneaky protruding objects.

Fears:

Being alone; While Polari doesn't mind being on his own for a while, it's being alone for the rest of his life that worries him, and the fear that others might abandon him.

Putting others in danger; Polari tends to avoid being put in a position of leadership at all costs, due to having a constant fear that his actions could endanger the lives of others; especially those that he cares about. He is perfectly happy with letting someone else take the lead.

Personality:

Polari is, for the most part, a pacifist. Battling for fun is not something he's done since he was young. That's not to say he dislikes fighting, he would just rather watch than participate. If the time comes in which he needs to defend himself, he will do so, but with slight hesitation. He understands the point of battling for fun but acknowledges that it is not something for him. Polari is very social, despite not always being the best conversationalist. He'll speak if he has something to say, but otherwise he prefers to listen instead. He is also a great listener, and is good at offering suggestions and advice to those that need it. Polari has a tendency to be a bit more awkward around quieter Pokemon, as he is incapable of keeping a conversation going on his own. For this reason, he prefers chatty individuals which he can listen to and simply nod or smile every once in a while. Being rather cheery and optimistic, Polari refuses to let anything slow him down. He enjoys challenges that test his skills, so long as those challenges don't involve battling. He has learned you can only fail if you simply do not try, so he puts effort into everything he does. However, it can be easy for Polari to bite of more than he can chew. Despite not wanting to be a leader, Polari has a strong sense of justice and is always willing to stand up for himself and his friends.
